If you are used to doing the same few social activities with your friends — basic things like movies and dining — then trying to come up with something new to do becomes a bit of a challenge. The same is true for devising fresh date ideas as well. As the year progresses and seasons change, however, your options change too. Here are a few date ideas suitable for the month of August.
- Visit the beach. If you live in a seasonal region, this may be one of your last chances to visit the beach or go to the boardwalk before it gets too cold. You can still enjoy the sun, but make sure to bring a sweatshirt in case it gets cool at night.
- Go on a nature hike. The leaves on the trees will start changing shades or red, orange, and yellow very soon, creating a beautiful scene for a nature hike. Pack lunch and bring a blanket so that you can sit and enjoy the view for a bit.
- Pick some apples. For many orchards, apple picking begins around this time of year. Drive to a nearby apple orchard, and find some apples to eat or purchase for baking. If you’re not sure which apples are best for eating and which are best for cooking, a friendly staff member should be able to help you learn together. Or better yet, do some research beforehand to impress your date.
- Go to the county fair. A wide variety of fairs traditionally take place in autumn months, most of which begin in August. Try one you’ve enjoyed in the past or something that will be new to both of you.
- Enjoy the arboretum. Similar to going on a nature hike, visiting a botanical garden will allow you to enjoy a walk together while observing a breath-taking array of plants and flowers.
